This talk offers a rare opportunity to explore Okazaki’s creative journey and distinctive making process. Born and raised in Hiroshima, the site of the atomic bomb in 1945, Okazaki channels his lifelong wish for peace into futuristic, symmetrical garments with complex curves. Each piece expresses the power of fashion as a form of prayer, connecting past and present, as well as humans and nature. In 2022, Okazaki was a finalist for the prestigious LVMH Prize.

The talk and demonstration will be followed by a Q&A session with the artist.

His dress series 'JOMONJOMON' will be on display from 13 September 2025 to 19 October 2025 as part of the V&A x LDF programme.
