This study day brings together scholars, curators, students, heritage professionals, and interested members of the public to explore the art, architecture, and cultural heritage of Myanmar. Prompted by the devastating earthquake that struck central Myanmar on 28th March 2025, the event offers an opportunity to celebrate Myanmar’s rich and diverse history of art, architecture and design, and consider the urgent challenge of preserving them. Speakers include art historians, archaeologists, curators, and heritage experts, drawing on the perspective of museums and collecting in the UK and research and heritage practices in Myanmar.
